[김준호 기자 = 삼척시] 삼척시는 마트, 편의점 등에서 일일 최대 30병까지만 교환이 가능한 자원순환보증금 제도의 불편을 해소하기 위해  10월 4일부터 삼척종합운동장 주차장에 ‘자원순환보증금 반환수집소’를 설치 운영한다.

그동안 다량으로 반환하는 시민은 여러 곳을 방문해야 했고, 소매점은 적재 공간 부족, 업무 가중 등으로 어려움을 겪어 왔다. 자원순환보증금 반환수집소는 월~토요일(일요일, 공휴일 휴무), 13시~17시 시간대에 운영된다.

시는 반환수집소에 전담 인력을 상주시켜 병 수 제한 없이 빈 용기를 회수하기로 하였다. 또한, 12월 2일부터 시행되는 ‘1회용 컵 보증금제도’에 따라 반환수집소에서 1회용 컵 반환도 함께 시행할 예정이다. 

삼척시 관계자는 “빈 용기를 다량 반환하는 시민은 반환수집소를 이용해 달라.”며 “빈 용기의 회수와 재사용이 활성화될 수 있도록 시민들의 많은 관심을 바란다.”고 전했다.
