[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 11일, 동두천시 캠프보산 월드 푸드 스트리트가 보산동 관광특구 내에서 개장했다고 밝혔다. 

월드 푸드 스트리트는 주한미군 이전 등으로 쇠퇴한 원도심인 보산동 외국인 관광특구의 경제 활성화를 위해 추진되는 사업이며, 운영시간은 매일 18시부터 23시까지이며, 올해 11월 30일까지 운영된다고 전했다. 

위치는 보산동 외국인 관광특구 내 방범초소 앞부터 야외무대까지이며, 이날 개장한 푸드 하우스는 11개소로, 향후 15개소까지 확대 운영될 예정이고, 주요 입점 메뉴로는 스테이크 샌드위치, 갈릭 파스타, 크리스피 롤, 중화덮밥, 꿔바로우 등으로 월드 푸드 스트리트를 방문하면 세계 각국의 다양한 음식들을 즐길 수 있다고 했다.

동두천시 전략사업과장은 “오는 4월부터 월드 푸드 활성화를 위해 두드림뮤직센터 주말 공연과 버스킹 공연, 핸드메이드 플리마켓 행사 등 다양한 문화행사도 함께 추진할 계획”이라고 전했다.
