[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 2월 9일 동두천시는 혁신교육지구 시즌 Ⅲ 추진을 위해 경기도동두천양주교육지원청과 ‘2022년 동두천혁신교육지구 운영 부속합의’를 체결했다고 밝혔다.

동두천시는 2018년 혁신교육지구 시즌 Ⅱ에 합류해 경기도교육청과 MOU 체결을 시작으로 혁신교육지구 사업을 발굴하고 지원했으며, 2021년에는 새롭게 혁신교육지구 시즌 Ⅲ 업무 협약을 체결하고 매년 부속합의를 통해 구체적인 혁신교육지구 사업을 운영하고 지원을 늘려 왔다고 했다.

이번 부속합의 된 동두천시 전액 지원 사업으로는 초등 맞춤형 꿈이룸 프로그램, 함께 만드는 중·고등학교 만들기 프로젝트, 찬찬이 학습 프로그램 등 13개이며, 2022년 지원 예산은 전년대비 11% 증액한 19억 원이라고 전했다.

동두천시 관계자는 “기존 관 중심에서 지역사회 중심으로 교육주체 확장에 따른 새로운 교육패러다임인 혁신교육이 동두천시에 잘 자리 잡을 수 있도록 학교, 교육지원청과 적극적인 협조와 소통을 통하여 지역특색에 맞는 양질의 교육프로그램을 개발하고 지원을 아끼지 않을 것”이라고 밝혔다.
