[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 6일, 동두천시는 2021년 결혼이민자 취업교육지원 프로그램 바리스타 자격증 수여식 및 종결식을 진행했다고 밝혔다.

지난 2014년부터 결혼이민자 취업교육지원 프로그램을 경기도와 동두천시에서 예산을 지원하고 동두천시건강가정·다문화가족지원센터에서 운영하는 사업으로 결혼이민자들의 경제적 자립을 위한 지원 및 생활 안정 도모를 목적으로 하고 있다고 했다.

동두천시에 거주하는 결혼이민자 20명을 모집하여 총 30회기에 걸쳐 바리스타 이론 및 실기 교육을 진행하였으며, 그 중 17명이 바리스타 2급 자격을 취득하여 취업을 준비하고 있다고 했다. 

이정숙 센터장은 “결혼이민자 취업교육지원 프로그램을 통해 결혼이민자들에게 전문 바리스타로서 활동할 수 있는 기회가 되었으며, 지역사회의 일원으로서 그들의 다양성과 능력을 발휘할 수 있는 새로운 도전의 기회가 될 것으로 기대한다”고 말했다.
