[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 2일 새마을지도자은현면협의회와 은현면새마을부녀회는 연휴에도 불구하고 관내 지역에서 국토 대 청결운동 및 신천에 하천 정화를 위해 미꾸라지를 방류하는 사업을 전개했다고 밝혔다.

이날 사업에는 황영희 시의회 부의장, 임재근 시의원, 김지현 은현면장, 김용춘 새마을운동양주시지회장, 이종용 새마을지도자양주시협의회장, 은현면 새마을지도자 등 20여 명이 참석했다고 전했다. 

국토 대 청결 사업은 은현면 관내 주요도로와 신천 일대 둔치지역을 대상으로 버려진 쓰레기를 일일이 확인하여 재사용 가능한 물품은 별도로 분리하여 모았고, 사용할 수 없는 것들은 폐기물 포대에 넣어서 처리했으며, 생명살림운동의 일환으로 실시한 하천 정화사업은 신천에 미꾸라지 1,000여 마리를 방류하여 수질이 개선되도록 했다고 밝혔다.

김지현 은현면장은 “시의원님, 새마을 단체장님들께서 바쁘신데도 불구하고 우리 은현면의 발전을 위하여 사업에 참석해 주셔서 너무나 고맙고 항상 새마을지도자분들이 우리 은현면을 가꾸어 주어서 고맙다” 인사말을 했다.
