이날 사업에는 김용춘 새마을운동양주시지회장을 비롯한 황점연, 구자삼 감사, 태영권 이사 등 20여 명이 참석했고, 청소는 회원사들이 각각 집게와 쓰레기 봉투를 들고 공원내 산재한 오물과 쓰레기들을 50리터 일반 종량제 봉투 10개에 담아서 직접 처리했다고 전했다. 

오수영 회장은 “ 최근 옥정호수공원은 양주시의 대표적인 시민 휴식 공간으로 자리메김하고 있어 평상시 많은 시민들이 즐겨 찾은 공원인데 많은 사람들이 오고가다보니공원내 오물과 쓰레기들이 많아서 우리 직장․공장새마을 회원사들이 생명살림운동 차원에서 국토 대 청결 사업을 하게 되었다”고 소감을 밝혔다.
