[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 오는 26일부터 양주시 회천3동 지역사회보장협의체 공동위원장 김용춘은 ‘꿈 가득 미래인재 양성을 위한 저소득층 교육비 지원’ 사업을 추진한다고 밝혔다.

이번 사업은 지난해 12월 경기사회복지공동모금회 연합모금 사업 추진으로 조성된 회천3동 모금액 중 5백만원의 재원을 투입해 진행하고, 지원대상은 관내 주민 중 고졸 검정고시를 준비하는 자와 미용, 제과, 경리 등 취업을 목적으로 학원 수강을 희망하는 자로 기준중위소득 80% 이하가 대상이라고 했다. 

지원 내용은 학원 수강료이고 취미반을 위한 학원 수강료는 제외되며 인당 최대 500천원까지 지원 가능하고, 신청은 예산 소진 시 조기마감 될 수 있으며 신청 방법 등 자세한 사항은 양주시 회천3동 행정복지센터 맞춤형복지팀으로 문의하면 안내받을 수 있다고 했다.

김용춘 위원장은 “교육비 부담으로 학원 수강 등을 미뤄왔던 검정고시 준비생과 취업을 준비하는 청년층 주민들의 교육비 부담 완화와 뚜렷한 미래 비전 제시에 조금이나마 도움이 되고자 이 사업을 추진하게 됐다”며 “앞으로도 다양한 대상자들을 위한 교육비 지원 사업 추진을 위해 노력하겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.

박혜련 동장은 “교육비를 지원받은 주민들의 학구열 발현과 취업난 해소에 보탬이 되길 바란다”며 “교육을 통한 후진 양성을 통해 장기적 지역 발전을 기대한다”고 바람을 전했다.
