[김현우 기자 = 가평] 가평군은 도로명주소 안내시설물의 효율적인 관리를 위해 올해 11월 말까지 노후 건물번호판 무상 교체사업을 추진한다고 21일 밝혔다.

이번 무상 교체사업은 도로명주소법 제35조2항에 따라 노후 건물번호판을 방치하게 될 경우 최대 50만원의 과태료를 받을 수 있는 만큼 군민들의 혼란을 방지하고자 선제적 대응에 나선 것이다.

교체대상은 2011년 건물번호판 도입당시 최초 부착 후, 장기간 햇빛에 노출되어 탈색, 훼손, 망실 등으로 모양이나 색이 눈에 쉽게 띄지 않아 도시미관을 저해하고 도로명주소체계 혼란을 야기하는 시설이다.

현재 관내에는 10년 경과한 건물번호판은 총 3,073개로 이 가운데 1,600여개를 교체할 예정이다.

읍면별로는 가평읍 355개, 설악면 332개, 청평면 299개, 상면 232개, 조종면 193개, 북면 150개로 건물번호판 소유자 및 점유자 등 해당 주민들로부터 신청 접수를 받아 설치해줄 계획이다.

사업이 완료되면 도미미관을 개선하고 구조․구급활동 지원이나 우편, 배달 등 도로명주소 이용에 있어 군민들의 편의성이 향상될 전망이다.

특히 노후되거나 훼손된 건물번호판 신청․수령을 위해 사용자가 군청을 여러 번 방문해야 하는 불편사항이 해소될 것으로 기대된다.

신청은 군청 홈페이지, 이메일, 팩스 또는 군청 및 읍면행정복지센터로 방문하면 된다. 

가평군 관계자는 “노후 건물번호판을 무상으로 교체함으로써 주민들이 더욱 편리하게 도로명주소를 사용하길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 도로명주소 생활화에 불편함이 없도록 건물번호판을 지속적으로 정비해 나갈 것"이라고 말했다.

한편 군은 사업목표량 달성을 위해 다각적인 홍보를 통해 많은 주민이 참여할 수 있도록 할 방침이다.
