[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 28일부터 6월 21일까지, 양주희망도서관은 낮 시간대 도서관 이용이 어려운 시민들을 대상으로 해질녘 인문학 강연 ‘그리스 로마 신화의 세계’를 개최한다고 전했다.

‘그리스 로마 신화의 세계’ 강연은 서양 고전학 전문가 서울대 인문학연구원 김헌 교수를 초빙해 서양 문화의 뿌리인 그리스 로마 신화를 다양한 시선으로 해석해보고 나아가 우리 자신의 삶에 적용해보는 과정을 다룬다고 했다.

특히 이번 강연을 통해 신들의 권력 투쟁, 올림포스 12신, 영웅과 문명의 탄생, 트로이아 전쟁 이야기를 알아보며, 그리스 로마 신화로부터 삶의 지혜를 배우는 시간을 가질 예정이라고 전했다.

시 도서관 관계자는 “이번 야간 인문학 강연을 통해 시민들이 문화생활을 향유하며 풍요로운 삶을 만들어 나갈 수 있기를 바란다”고 말했다.

이번 강연을 맡은 김헌 교수는 ‘김헌의 그리스 로마 신화’, ‘그리스 문명 기행’, ‘천년의 수업’ 등 다수의 도서를 집필하고 ‘책 읽어주는 나의 서재’, ‘차이나는 클라스’, ‘벌거벗은 세계사’ 등 여러 방송에 출연하며 서양 고전을 널리 알리고 있으며 서울대 서양 고전 열풍의 주역으로 정평이 나있다고 전했다.

강연은 매주 화요일 오후 7시에서 9시까지 총 4회에 걸쳐 진행되며 강연신청은 도서관홈페이지 또는 양주희망도서관에 전화 신청하면 되고, 신청대상은 양주시민이면 누구나 신청할 수 있으며, 모집인원은 선착순 30명이고, 기타 자세한 사항은 양주시도서관홈페이지를 확인하거나 양주희망도서관에 문의하면 안내받을 수 있다고 했다.
