[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 11일부터 4월 11일까지 양주시는 은현면 소재 양주권 자원회수시설에 대한 상반기 정기보수를 실시한다고 밝혔다. 

양주권 자원회수시설은 24시간 연속 가동하는 생활폐기물 소각시설로 피로도 누적에 따른 고장을 예방해 생활폐기물을 안정적으로 처리하기 위해 연 2회 상‧하반기마다 정기보수를 실시하고 있다고 했다.

이번 정기보수는 용융로, 열분해설비, 분산 제어설비, 분별설비 등 총 12개 설비에 대한 정비를 실시한다고 전했다.

정기유지보수 기간 동안 원활한 폐기물 처리를 위해 가동중단 기간을 최소화하고 시설을 순차적으로 보수하는 한편, 일부 폐기물은 수도권매립지로 분산 처리해 시민들의 생활 불편이 없도록 할 예정이라고 했다.

또한 보수기간 동안 생활폐기물 소각이 불가능하기 때문에 생활쓰레기 줄이기, 분리배출 실천 등 폐기물 발생량을 줄이기 위한 시민들의 자발적인 캠페인 참여를 유도할 계획이라고 했다.

양주시 관계자는 “자원회수시설 정기보수는 시설의 처리효율 상승을 통한 원활한 생활폐기물 처리를 위해 시행하는 작업”이라며 “보수기간 동안 안정적인 폐기물 처리를 위해 생활폐기물 감량과 재활용품 분리배출에 대한 시민들의 적극적인 협조를 당부드린다”고 말했다.
