지난 8월 2일부터 10월 29일까지 진행된 이번 공모전에 자연 및 도시 경관, 역사·문화 명소, 시민의 삶 등 의정부의 특색 있는 모습을 담은 사진 231점이 접수됐으며, 1차 온라인 심사를 통해 90점을 선정하고, 11월 26일 2차 직접 심사를 통해 대상 1점, 우수상 2점, 장려상 3점, 입선 24점 등 총 30점을 선정했다고 전했다.

이날 대상으로 선정된 김종욱 씨의 ‘V계곡으로 본 의정부’는 이른 아침 도봉산에서 의정부 망월사를 향해 조망한 의정부시내 전경을 담은 사진으로, 요즘같이 어려운 시기에 의정부 방향 도봉산 V계곡으로 보이는 의정부시의 밝아오는 모습을 통해 희망찬 미래를 표현했다는 점에서 심사위원들의 좋은 점수를 받았다고 했다.

우수상은 김인경 씨의 ‘화합의 광장’, 이수복 씨의 ‘코로나 멀리 날아가버려’가 선정되었고, 장려상은 조신호 씨의 ‘부용천 산책로’, 최일섭 씨의 ‘행복도시의 하루를 싣고’, 김병호 씨의 ‘야~아호’가 선정됐다고 했다.
