[안종욱 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 가평군청소년문화의집은 최근 2021년 제18회 대한민국 아동총회 경기북부지역 주관기관으로 선정됐다고 밝혔다. 

관내 초·중등 청소년을 대상으로 운영하는 ‘꿈나래’ 청소년 방과후아카데미 참여 청소년과 지도자 등 50여 명이 참여하는 이번 총회는 UN아동권리 협약에 입각하여 ‘아동의, 아동에 의한, 아동을 위한’ 이라는 슬로건을 바탕으로 마련된 행사라고 했다. 

지난 6월 15일 제14기 대한민국 아동총회 전국대표 의장(나지은·고려대학교 1학년)의 초청 강연을 시작으로 아동총회의 취지와 진행 방법 등을 소개하였으며, 4개의 주제(아동학대, 학교폭력, 사교육, 유해환경)에 대한 토론을 통해 8월 말까지 지역대회를 마치고 결의문을 작성하게 된다고 했다. 

경기북부 지역대표로 최종 5명의 청소년을 선발하게 되며, 이들 청소년들은 오는 9월 11일부터 12일까지 대한민국 국회와 국제청소년센터, 아동권리보장원 등지에서 개최되는 전국대회에 참가하여 채택된 결의문을 발표하게 된다고 했다. 

가평군청소년문화의집 방과후아카데미 최은진 팀장은 “이번 총회를 계기로 청소년들이 권리의 주체로서 자신과 돤련된 사회적 문제와 정책에 대해 스스로 고민하고 자유롭게 의견을 말하는 기회가 될 것”이라고 말했다. 

2021 제18회 대한민국 아동총회는 보건복지부와 아동권리보장원, 사단법인 아동단체협의회가 공동 주관하고 ㈜영원무역이 후원한다고 밝혔다.
