[안종욱 기자 = 경기북부] 오는 7월 1일부터 가평읍 가화로 47에 위치한 건유의원에서 24시간 진료를 위한 당직의료기관 운영을 시작한다고 밝혔다. 

예상치 못한 상황이나 장소에서 사고가 발생할 시 대부분의 사람은 당황하여 올바른 응급처치를 하지 못하는데, 아무리 작고 얕은 상처라해도 정확한 진단과 적절한 처치가 이루어지는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다고 볼 수 있다고 했다.

그동안 우리 군내에서는 설악면 HJ매그놀리아국제병원만이 유일하게 응급의료시설로 지정되어 응급실 운영이 되어 왔으나, 가평읍과 북면 지역의 주민들은 접근성이 불편하여 강원도 춘천시의 강원대학교병원, 한림성심병원, 마석 원병원 등의 응급실을 이용할 수 밖에 없는 불편함이 있었다고 했다. 

이번 건유의원의 당직의료기관 지정으로 인하여 접근성이 안정된 만큼 가평읍과 북면 지역의 주민들의 응급상황 발생 시 편리한 이용이 예상되며, 코로나19가 종료되고 관광가평으로서의 명성이 되살아나는 상황을 대비하여 관광객들의 응급상황 대처에도 많은 도움이 될 것임이 분명할 것이라고 전했다. 

앞으로도 박정연 가평군 보건소장은 “군민의 소중한 생명과 건강을 보호하기 위하여 가평군 응급의료체계를 더욱 강화해 나갈 것이며, 응급의료 서비스 향상을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
