[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 31일 양주시 양주1동은 영농철 마지막 모내기 현장을 방문해 농업인들의 노고를 격려했다고 밝혔다. 

이날 모내기 현장 방문은 신영균 동장, 안순덕 시의원, 농협 관계자 등이 참여한 가운데 지난달 못자리 설치 농가 일손 돕기에 이어 올 한해 벼농사의 풍년을 기원하고 코로나19, 기후변화 등으로 어려운 농업 현실 속에서도 최선을 다하고 있는 농업인들을 격려하기 위해 마련됐다고 했다.

특히 공직자가 솔선해 코로나19로 인해 어려움을 겪고 있는 농가에 일손 돕기를 지속적으로 실시할 계획이라고 전했다. 

신영균 동장은 “올해는 강우량이 풍부해 가뭄 걱정 없이 순조롭게 모내기 작업이 마무리돼 풍년 농사가 기대된다”며 “앞으로도 농업인들의 어려움에 귀 기울이며 영농 발전을 위해 지속적으로 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
