[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 동해시의회는 이정학 의원이 지난 19일 시의회 2층 소회의실에서 지방의회 30주년 및 제9회 지방자치의 날을 맞이해 ‘지방의정 봉사상’을 수상했다고 밝혔다.

지방의정 봉사상은 「전국시군자치구의회 의장협의회」에서 투철한 사명감과 봉사정신으로 지방의정 및 지역사회 발전에 기여한 지방의회 의원을 대상으로 수여하고 있다고 했다.

이정학 의원은 그동안 관내 소상공인 지원과 동해사랑 상품권 활성화 및 청년정책의 적극적 마련을 위해 힘썼으며, 동해시 교육 경쟁력 강화를 위한 대비책과 동해시 보건의료시스템 활성화를 위한 대책을 촉구하는 등 적극적으로 지역 현안 해결을 위해 앞장서며 의원 간 원만한 의사소통을 이끌며 수준 높은 의정활동을 펼치기 위해 노력해왔다고 전했다.

이정학 의원은 “지방의회 30주년을 맞이해 뜻 깊은 상을 받아 감사하다”며 “이번 수상이 지역발전과 주민의 복리증진 향상을 위해 더욱 헌신하고 노력하라는 뜻으로 알고, 앞으로도 동해시와 동해시민을 위한 의정활동에 소홀함이 없도록 하겠다”고 수상 소감을 밝혔다.
