이날 행사는 정용화 부녀회장, 황규영 새마을지도자회장 등 새마을부녀회원과 새마을 지도자회원 등이 함께한 가운데 직접 손질한 좋은 재료로 수제 간장을 정성스럽게 담가 관내 독거노인 등 어려운 이웃 100가구에 전달했다고 했다.

정용화 부녀회장은 “주위의 힘든 이웃들이 따뜻한 정성이 담긴 수제간장을 맛보면서 사랑을 느낄 수 있길 바란다”며 “새마을의 생명·평화·공경·봉사 정신이 널리 퍼질 수 있도록 앞장서겠다”고 말했다. 

이기호 동장은 “해마다 이웃을 위해 봉사와 나눔을 실천하는 새마을부녀회원과 지도자회원들께 감사하다”며 “여성친화도시에 발맞춰 부녀회원과 함께 지역사회에 기부문화가 자리 잡는 분위기를 만들기 위해 노력하겠다”고 전했다.
