[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 19일 양주시는 주한 영국대사관에서 열린 ‘스마트시티 국제표준(ISO 37106) 인증서 수여식’에 참석해 영국표준협회(BSI)로부터 인증서를 전달받았다고 밝혔다.

이날 수여식에는 조학수 부시장, 김종천 과천시장, 송경수 BSI 한국법인 대표, 신광호 LH 스마트도시개발처장, 주한 영국대사관 관계자 등이 참석했다고 전했다.

스마트시티 국제인증(ISO 37106)은 국제표준화기구(ISO)가 주관하고 영국표준협회(BSI)에서 심사하는 스마트시티 국제인증으로 ‘지속가능한 도시와 커뮤니티 모델’을 기반으로 도시 전체의 스마트시티 성숙도를 종합 평가하는 국제표준이라고 했다.

국제표준 인증심사는 국가표준 제정기구인 BSI에서 도시비전, 시민중심, 로드맵, 인프라 관리 등 4개 원칙을 기준으로 1차 서류심사와 2차 현장심사를 통해 진행한다고 했다.

양주시는 지난해 12월 도시 간 협업, 스마트도시 개발, 인프라 관리 등 성숙도 수준 평가 분야 22개 항목에서 평균 레벨3(성숙) 이상을 획득, 인증심사를 최종 통과하며 스마트시티 국제표준 인증을 받게 됐다고 전했다.

특히 지능형교통시스템, CCTV 선별관제 시스템, 광대역 자가통신망 구축 등 첨단기술 인프라 구축과 더불어 시민 중심 감동365 혁신 시책을 발굴하는 ‘양주 혁신 리빙랩 센터’ 운영지원으로 인프라 관리 분야에서 우수한 평가를 받았다고 했다.

또한 사물인터넷과 지능형 기술 등 4차 산업 혁신기술을 접목한 1인 여성가구 범죄예방 플랫폼, 실시간 블랙아이스 탐지경보 시스템, 스마트시티 통합 플랫폼 등 스마트시티 서비스 추진 측면에서도 높은 점수를 받았다고 했다.

양주시는 이번 국제표준 인증으로 대외적인 우수성을 인정받은 양주형 스마트시티 모델의 고도화를 적극 추진, 지속적인 평가와 재인증을 통해 선진적 스마트도시 인프라 구축에 박차를 가할 계획이라고 전했다.

이성호 양주시장은 “이번 국제표준 인증을 통해 지속가능한 스마트시티 건설과 시민 모두가 안전하고 편리한 생활환경 조성의 기반이 마련됐다”며 “양주시가 첨단기술 인프라 구축을 통한 한 단계 높은 수준의 스마트시티로 발돋움할 수 있도록 총력을 기울이겠다”고 밝혔다.
