[김현우 기자 = 가평] 가평군은 7월부터 오는 10월까지 약 4개월 동안 장애인복지관과 함께 관내 대상시설 523개소에 대해 '2023년 장애인 편의시설 설치 현황조사'를 추진한다고 29일 밝혔다.

이번 조사는 보건복지부에서 '장애인·노인·임산부 등의 편의증진 보장에 관한 법률'(이하 장애인등편의법)에 따라 편의시설 활성화 정책의 기초자료 확보를 위하여 5년마다 전수조사의 방법으로 실시하는 조사로, 장애인등편의법 시행일인 1998년 4월 11일 이후 건축 행위가 있었던 건물 중 공공건물, 공동주택, 숙박시설, 소매점, 의원 등 편의시설 설치 의무가 있는 곳이 대상이 된다.

시설의 종류에 따라 설치해야 할 편의시설의 종류와 기준이 다르며 개별 시설별로 2인 1조로 구성된 조사요원이 대상시설을 방문하여 주출입구 접근로, 출입구, 점자블록 등 용도에 따라 최대 120개 항목에 대해 조사한다.

가평군에 따르면, 이번 조사 결과 자료는 내년부터 정식 운영 계획인 '복지로' 사이트에서 제공되는 편의시설 설치정보 안내 서비스에 반영될 예정이며 편의시설의 미설치 및 미흡한 시설에 대하여는 관련법에 따라 시정명령 등의 개선조치가 실시될 예정이다.

가평군 관계자는 “이번 조사 결과자료가 전국 편의시설 안내 서비스에 활용되는 만큼 조사기간 동안 조사요원의 현장 방문 시, 시설 출입 허용과 현장 안내에 시설주 및 관리자분들의 적극적인 협조를 부탁드린다.”고 말했다.

한편 편의시설 설치 현황조사는 관계법령에 따라 전국적으로 실시되며, 조사를 거부하거나 방해하는 경우 과태료 200만원에 처해진다.
