[김현우 기자 = 가평] 16일 가평군은 올해로 건축된지 25년이 된, 노후화 된 가평문화예술회관을 내년 말까지 2년여 간 리모델링 사업을 추진한다고 밝혔다.

지난 1998년 개관 후, 20여년이 지나면서 노후화로 인해 안전사고 발생이 우려되고 있는 가평문화예술회관이 새롭게 태어날 예정이다.

이에 군은 벽체균열, 타일보수, 옥상바닥 등 건축물 하자보수를 비롯해  무대막시설, 조명시설, 음향시설, 방화막, 리프트 등 무대상․하부시설 개보수를 중점적으로 실시키로 했다. 총 사업비는 86억여 원이 들어갈 것으로 예상된다.

특히 군은 2025년 경기도 체육대회 및 2026년 경기도 생활체육대축전 가평 유치시, 문예회관이 보디빌딩 대회장으로 사용될 것에 대비해 신속한 개보수를 진행한다는 방침이다.  

군은 올해 경기도 투자심사자료 제출, 개보수 적정성 평가용역, 건축기획 및 사전검토 용역, 통합재정안정화기금 재정융자 추진, 설계공모예산 및 도비보조금 확보, 실시설계 추진 등 행정절차를 진행할 예정이다.

이어 내년 초, 리모델링 공사를 진행해 연말에 재개관에 들어갈 계획이라고 군은 전했다.

가평군은 공사기간 이용자들의 불편 해소를 위해 문화예술회관 대체 이용시설 및 야외공연장소로 음악역 1939, 가평체육관, 청춘역 1979, 자라섬, 각 읍․면 체육공원 등을 운영키로 했다.

가평군 관계자는 “1998년 개관 이후 노후화 및 내구연한 초과 등으로 일부제품은 단종되어 공연사고 발생시 대처가 어렵고 안전상의 문제가 있어 개선이 필요해 왔다”며 “신속한 리모델링 사업을 통해 가평군 문화예술의 요람으로 만들어 나가겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 가평문화예술회관(이하 문예회관)은 가평읍 문화로 일원에 4천801㎡ 지하 3층~지상 2층 규모로 1998년 준공됐으며, 주요 시설은 대공연장, 전시실, 영사실, 연습실, 관리사무실, 전기·기계실 등이 갖춰져 있다.
