[김현우 기자 = 양주] 양주시는 지역 현안사업 추진을 위한 경기도 특별조정교부금 52억4천만원을 확보했다고 밝혔다. 

이번에 선정된 사업은 5건으로 공설 파크골프장 조성사업(13.5억원), 덕정도서관 전면 리모델링(18.9억원), 한국지체장애인협회 양주시지회 건물 개보수(2억원), 한산리 농어촌도로 확포장공사(8억원), 근린공원18(방성리) 조성사업(10억원)이다.

공설파크골프장 조성사업은 자연경관을 활용하여 생활권 속 휴식 및 정서생활 향상을 겸비한 생활스포츠 활동으로 시민들의 휴양 및 여가활동에 기여하고자 광적생활체육공원 옆에 조성하고자 하는 사업이다. 

현재 양주시에는 파크골프장 1개소가 운영 중이며 이번 사업을 통해 추가 조성될 경우 양주 시민뿐만 아니라 경기도 인접시군의 파크골프 수요층까지 수용할 것으로 예상된다.

덕정도서관 전면 리모델링 사업은 지난 1994년 개관해 시설 노후화와 공간구조의 비효율로 운영 애로를 겪고 있는 덕정도서관을 리모델링하는 사업이다.

특히 4차 산업혁명시대 새로운 트렌드를 반영해 신도시 유입 인구의 다양한 욕구에 충족시킬 수 있는 복합문화공간이자 독서 힐링 장소로 탈바꿈될 전망이다.
