[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 양주시는 투명한 임대차 시장 조성과 임차인의 권리보호 강화를 위해 지난해 6월 1일 도입된 주택임대차 신고제의 계도기간을 오는 2023년 5월 31일까지 연장한다고 밝혔다.

양주시는 통상 임대차계약이 2년인 점과 계약기간 미도래 등으로 제도정착에 기간이 필요하다고 판단하고 계도기간을 1년 더 연장하기로 했다.

주택임대차 신고대상은 2021년 6월 1일 이후 체결된 보증금 6천만원 또는 월차임 30만원을 초과하는 주택임대차 계약(금액 변동이 있는 재계약 포함)으로 임대차계약 체결일로부터 30일 이내 임차주택 소재지 관할 행정복지센터를 방문하거나 부동산거래관리시스템을 통해 온라인으로 신고하면 된다.

양주시 관계자는 “주택임대차 신고제 계도기간 연장은 주택임대차 신고를 하지 않아도 된다는 의미가 아니라 100만원 이하의 과태료 부과를 유예하는 것이므로 2021년 6월 1일 이후 주택임대차 계약은 2023년 5월 31일까지는 꼭 신고해야 한다”고 당부했으며, “과태료 부과 목적이 아닌 만큼 지속적인 홍보 등을 통해 시민들의 자발적인 신고 분위기를 조성해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
