[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 7일부터 양주시가 덕계근린공원 부지 내 설치된 제2임시선별검사소를 양주나리농원 주차장(광사동 814번지)으로 이전해 운영한다고 밝혔다.

기존 제2임시선별검사소는 협소한 주차공간으로 최근 하루 수백여 명이 넘는 확진자 발생 속 검사자 차량이 연일 만원을 이루며 시민들의 불편이 지속돼왔다고 했다.

이에 시는 지난 2일 신규 확진자 수가 총 1,337명 발생하며 역대 최다 규모를 기록한 가운데 오미크론 대유행으로 전국 일일 신규 확진자 수가 30만명 이상 발생할 것으로 예상됨에 따라 폭증하는 검사수요에 신속히 대응하고 이용 시민들에게 쾌적한 검사환경 제공하기 위해 임시선별검사소 이전을 전격 결정했다고 전했다.

양주나리농원 임시선별검사소는 유전자증폭(PCR) 검사와 신속항원(RAT) 검사 대상자를 구분해 진행할 수 있도록 검사 공간이 나눠져 있으며 인근에 주차 대수 500대 이상의 야외 주차장이 마련돼 있다고 했다.

운영시간은 평일 오전 9시부터 오후 5시까지, 주말 오전 9시부터 오후 1시까지이며 평일 정오 12시부터 오후 1시 반까지는 소독 시간으로 검사를 진행하지 않고, 신속항원검사는 평일에만 검사 가능하며 PCR 검사는 평일과 주말 관계없이 운영한다고 했다.

검사 대기자는 코로나19 확산 방지를 위해 선별검사소 인근에 위치한 양주국민체육센터 화장실 이용이 불가능하며 임시로 설치한 간이화장실을 이용하면 된다고 했다.

이재환 양주시 보건소장은 “코로나19 오미크론 대유행으로 인한 대규모 확진자 발생에 대비해 검사 역량을 대폭 확대하고자 제2임시선별검사소를 양주나리농원 주차장으로 이전한다”며 “유행 정점이 3월 중순으로 예상되는 만큼 급증하는 검사 인원을 소화할 수 있도록 발빠르게 대응하겠다”고 밝혔다.
