매년 함께하는 행사를 가졌으나 코로나19로 6.25참전 유공자분들과 한자리에 함께 하지 못한 아쉬움을 다소나마 덜어보고자 했다.

6.25에 참전한 한 유공자 어르신은 “6.25가 다가오면 과거 전쟁의 참혹한 모습이 떠올라 가슴이 아프지만, 많은 분들의 희생과 공헌을 통해 살기 좋은 나라가 된 것 같아 보람을 느낀다.”라며 “이렇게 잊지 않고 기억해 주셔서 너무나 감사하다.”고 소회를 밝혔다

이영구 가산면장은 “우리가 누리는 풍요로운 삶은 국가유공자들의 희생과 헌신을 바탕으로 이루어진 것이다. 6.25 참전 영웅들의 숭고한 희생과 공헌을 기억하고 앞으로도 6.25참전 유공자 어르신들과 가족분들에 대한 행정 지원을 아끼지 않겠다.”고 전했다.
