양주시는 이번 시범사업을 통해 채소재배 기술에 대한 이해가 높고 고품질 채소재배 실천의지가 강한 관내 과채류 재배 농가에 온도 저감과 병해충 방제가 가능한 안개식 자동분무시스템 시설 설치를 지원한다고 전했다.

안개식 자동분무시스템은 정수 처리한 깨끗한 물을 안개처럼 미세한 크기의 물입자로 분사하는 설비로 분무 즉시 증발해 주변 온도를 낮추는 쿨링효과 뿐만 아니라 미세먼지, 악취 저감 효과를 볼 수 있다고 했다.

이번 시스템 설치로 시설 내부 온도를 5℃가량 낮춰 고온기 이상기후로 인한 개화, 수정 불량, 광합성 저하 등 생육장해를 예방할 수 있다고 했다.

또한 시설 내 인력 투입 없이 살균, 살충제 방제를 실시할 수 있어 농약방제 작업의 생력화를 통한 작물 품질 향상과 노동력 절감의 효과를 얻을 수 있다고 했다.

양주시는 기후변화에 대응하는 환경개선 기술시범과 채소재배 기술 지도를 접목하여 고온기 안전한 채소재배를 위한 매뉴얼 제작으로 농업현장에 보급할 예정이라고 전했다.

양주시 농업기술센터 관계자는 “이상기후 대비 안개분무시스템 도입은 채소재배를 포함한 다양한 고온기 농업현장에서 필수적인 장비”라며 “이번 시범사업을 통해 작물 재배환경 개선효과를 확인·검토해 점차 확대해 나갈 계획”이라고 말했다.
