[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 14일 양주시는 인구보건복지협회 경기도지회에서 양주시보건소를 방문해 2021년 아가사랑 후원금 200만원을 희귀난치 질환자에게 전달했다고 밝혔다.

이날 전달식에는 안미숙 보건소장, 김동진 인구보건복지협회 경기도지회 본부장, 후원 아동 가족이 참석했고, 이번 전달은 희귀질환자 의료비지원 담당자의 적극적인 관심과 노력으로 대상 아동을 발굴, 도움이 필요한 후원 아동을 인구보건복지협회에 추천하면서 성사됐다고 했다.

후원 아동은 신경섬유종증 1형으로 장기간 치료가 필요한 상황이지만 산정특례와 희귀질환 의료비 사업 지원을 받았음에도 비급여 항목의 높은 치료비로 인해 도움이 필요한 상황이었다고 했다. 

후원아동의 가족은 “후원금을 통해 의료비 부담이 일부 해소되어 기쁘다”며 “코로나19로 인한 바쁜 업무 가운데 관심을 가져준 안미숙 보건소장님과 김동진 본부장님에게 감사하다”고 말했다. 

김동진 본부장은 “이번 후원금 지급으로 조금이나마 후원 가족의 경제적 부담이 경감되었으면 하는 바람이다”며 “지속적인 의료비 지원으로 저소득 가정의 삶의 질 향상을 위해 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

아가사랑 후원회 사업은 1999년부터 매년 정신지체아나 미숙아, 소아암, 희귀난치성 질환아 등에 치료지원을 하고 있으며 후원금은 일반 및 기업후원, 협회 임직원 등의 모금으로 마련되고 있다고 전했다.
