[김현우 기자 = 양주] 양주시는 2023년 6월 제1기분 자동차세를 8만5천458건에 84억원을 부과했다고 16일 밝혔다.

이번 자동차세는 연납 납부자와 비과세 감면 대상자를 제외하고, 6월 1일 기준으로 자동차 등록원부상 소유자에게 부과했다. 

올해 자동차세는 지난해 6월보다 약 10억원 증가(13%)했으며, 이는 인구 유입으로 지난해 대비 양주시 자동차등록 대수가 약 10% 증가함에 따라 세액도 함께 증가한 것으로 보인다.

자동차세 납부 마감일은 오는 30일까지이며, 전국 금융 기관 및 우체국 등을 방문하여 납세고지서로 납부하거나 고지서에 기재된 가상계좌 및 지방세입계좌를 통한 이체, ARS 전화를 통한 신용카드 납부, 온라인 사이트 위택스, 지로 등 다양한 방법으로 납부할 수 있다.

 또한, 납세고지서 없이도 금융기관에 설치된 현금 입출금기(CD/ATM)에 통장 또는 현금카드, 신용카드를 이용하여 본인 또는 타인(전자납부번호로 조회)의 부과내역을 확인하고 납부할 수 있으며, 특히 지방세 고지서에 기재되는 지방세입계좌(전자납부번호)를 이용할 경우 이체 수수료가 면제된다.

포천시 관계자는 “시 홈페이지, 현수막, 전광판 등을 활용하여 납부 기한 내에 주민들이 부과 내용을 알 수 있도록 홍보를 강화했으며, 납부 기한을 넘기면 납부 금액의 3%의 가산금이 부과되므로 납부 기한 이전에 납부해 주길 바란다”며 “납부 마감일(6.30.)에는 금융기관이 혼잡하고 인터넷 납부 등의 접속 폭주로 인해 납세자의 불편이 예상됨에 따라 미리 납부하시길 바란다”고 말했다.
