[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 최종현 경기도의원이 수원시 제7선거구(매탄 1,2,3,4동) 더불어민주당 후보로 6월 1일 지방선거에 출마하게 됐다고 전했다. 

더불어민주당 경기도당 공천관리위원회는 4월부터 지방선거 후보자 공모를 받아 서류심사와 면접 등을 종합해 최종현 후보의 자질·능력·경쟁력·당선 가능성을 고려해 최종 선정했다고 했다.

최종현 후보는 “지역민의 높은 관심과 지지를 받고 있으며, 코로나로 인한 경기침체와 위기에 놓인 지역구민의 어려움을 도의회에 정확히 전달해 조금이라도 생활이 나아지도록 노력할 것을 약속드리며, 6월 1일 본선거에서의 지지를 희망한다”고 말했다. 

또한 최종현 후보는 "수원의 미래를 함께 고민해 왔던 민주당 후보들과 지지자들이 함께 원 팀을 이루어 계속적인 수원의 발전을 위해 지방선거에서 승리하겠다"고 소감을 밝혔다.

이어 "준비된 경기도의원 후보로써 경기도 전체를 바라보고 고민하던 시각을 이번에는 지역구(매탄 1,2,3,4동)로 바꾸어 더욱 섬세하고 공정한 도정을 펼치겠다“고 말했다.
