[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 양주시 드림스타트는 관내 사례관리 아동의 눈 건강 보호를 위해 시력교정용 안경지원사업 ‘EYE 사랑 안경지원’을 성황리에 마무리했다고 밝혔다.

이번 사업은 이마트 양주점에 입점한 ‘1001 안경점’과 업무협약을 체결해 어려운 가정형편으로 시력 관리에 소홀한 학령기 사례관리 아동에게 맞춤형 안경을 지원하는 건강증진사업이라고 했다.

양주시 드림스타트는 지난 7월 시력 저하로 불편을 겪는 사례관리 아동을 대상으로 검진을 실시, 시력 교정과 안경 교체가 필요한 아동 20명을 사전 선정했다고 전했다.

이어 안경점에서는 코로나19 감염 예방을 위해 대상 아동이 안경원에 개별적으로 방문하면 적기 시력 교정을 통해 시력 저하를 방지하고 눈 건강을 보호할 수 있도록 1인당 10만원 상당의 안경구입 비용을 지원하는 등 맞춤형 서비스를 제공했다고 했다.

김장호 대표는 “건강검진 사각지대에 놓여 있는 저소득 취약계층 아동들의 건강한 시력 관리를 위해 작은 도움이 되고자 기부에 동참하게 됐다”며 “나눔과 봉사를 통한 지역사회 공헌 활동을 지속적으로 펼쳐 나가겠다”고 말했다.
