[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 1일 동두천시 불현동 주민자치위원회는 불현동 관내의 환경 취약 지역을 청소하고, GTX-C노선의 동두천 연장을 위한 서명운동을 추진했다고 밝혔다.

이날 불현동 주민자치위원 20여 명이 참석하여 쓰레기 불법투기가 심각한 환경취약 지역을 집중적으로 정화했으며, 관내 유동인구가 많은 버스정류장 및 택시 승강장 등에서 주민자치위원들이 직접 발품을 팔아 일대일로 서명을 받는 방식으로 GTX-C노선 동두천 연장을 위한 서명운동을 진행했다고 했다.

이상재 불현동 주민자치위원장은 “주민자치위원들과 장마가 오기 전에 환경취약지역을 깨끗하게 정화할 수 있어 다행이다”라며 “GTX-C노선 동두천 연장사업이 대두되고 있는 가운데 주민자치위원들도 시민의 한사람으로서 적극 지지한다”고 밝혔다. 

김지일 불현동장은 “환경 정화 활동 및 GTX-C노선 동두천 연장 서명운동으로 불현동뿐만 아니라 동두천시민 전체의 삶의 질을 향상시키는 일이다”라며, “동두천시민들이 기원하는 GTX-C노선 동두천 연장에 대하여 자발적으로 서명운동을 추진해 주셔서 주민자치위원들에게 감사하다”고 전했다.
