백능자 야미1리 이장은 “마을의 번창과 발전을 위한 주민들의 염원을 담아 이 표지석을 세웠다. 표지석의 기운을 받아 마을이 서로 화합하고 운수대통하길 바란다.”라고 말했다.

한편, 야미1리 마을은 216가구 360여 명의 주민이 살고 있으며, 이지영 노인회장, 정명환 새마을지도자, 김종순 부녀회장 등이 백능자 이장과 함께 마을을 이끌어 오고 있다고 전했다.
