[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 30일 새마을지도자 장흥면협의회와 장흥면새마을부녀회는 휴일임에도 불구하고 고구마심기 사업을 전개했다고 밝혔다.

고구마 심기사업은 장흥면 일영리 소재 2개소 밭 총 700여평에 11,000개의 고구마순을 심는 사업이고, 이날 사업에는 이승대 장흥면장, 이종혁 장흥면 농협조합장, 새마을 지도자, 부녀회원 등20여 명이 참석했다고 전했다.

사업을 주관한 이천호 회장은 “코로나 19 상황에서도 새마을지도자들이 몇 개월후에 고구마를 수확하여 관내 어려운 이웃들에게 나누어 준다고 생각하니 조금도 힘들지 않고 보람을 느낀다” 며 소감을 밝혔다.

한편 장흥면새마을지도자들은 올해 1월 30일부터 지금까지 매월 2회씩 주말에 나와서 관내 76개 버스정류장을 자율적으로 방역 봉사를 해오고 있어 주민들로부터 많은 칭찬을 받고 있다고 했다.
