[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 18일 포천시 영중면새마을지도자협의회 회장 조기만은 영중면 양문리 소재 농가를 찾아 농촌경제활성화를 위한 일손돕기를 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이날 봉사에 참가한 회원 10여명은 새벽부터 농가를 방문해 못자리 작업을 실시하며 구슬땀을 흘렸다고 했다. 

농가주 A씨는 “모두들 본연의 생업으로 고단할 텐데, 일요일 새벽부터 나와 봉사해준 새마을지도자 분들께 너무 감사하다.”며 고마움을 전했다.

조기만 협의회장은 “코로나19로 힘든 농가에 조금이나마 도움을 드릴 수 있어서 다행이다.”며, “앞으로도 농촌지역인 영중면의 활성화를 위해 최선을 다하는 새마을지도자협의회가 되도록 노력하겠다.”고 말했다.
