[김현우 기자 = 가평] 지난 16일 가평군은 쌀 수급 안정을 유도하기 위해 마련된 '전략작물직불제' 신청접수를 받는다고 밝혔다.

전략작물직불제는 기본형 공익직불금에 더해 논에서 전략 작물을 재배하는 농업인, 농업법인에 추가로 지급하는 선택형 직불금이다. 

벼 과잉생산을 줄여 쌀 수급 안정을 도모하고 수입의존도가 높은 밀·콩·가루쌀 등의 생산을 확대해 농산물 자립도와 농가소득을 높이기 위함이다. 

지급대상 농지는 법적 지목과 상관없이 다음 어느 하나에 해당하는 농지법상 농지로서 농업에 이용되는 논(畓)이며 겨울철에 식량작물(밀·호밀·보리 등)이나 조사료를 재배하면 ㏊당 50만원, 여름철에 논콩·가루쌀 등을 재배하면 100만원, 하계 조사료를 재배하면 430만원을 지급한다.

가평군 관계자는 "쌀 공급 과잉 문제를 해결하고 쌀값을 안정화할 수 있도록 농업인과 농업법인의 적극적인 사업 참여와 협조를 당부드린다"며 "쌀 적정 생산을 통한 수급 안정 도모와 기타 식량작물의 자급률 향상에 최선을 다하겠다"고 말했다.
