[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 포천시 여성단체협의회는 지난 5일 여성회관 청성홀에서 ‘2022년 양성평등주간 기념행사’를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

양성평등주간 기념행사는 매년 9월 1일부터 9월 7일까지 실질적인 남녀평등의 이념을 구현하기 위해 제정된 양성평등 주간을 기념하는 행사다.

올해로 제27회를 맞이하는 이번 양성평등 주간행사에서는 양성평등 유공자 12명을 표창하고 빈칸퀴즈 맞히기 이벤트, 양성평등을 주제로 한 뮤지컬 공연 ‘엄마가 뿔났다’ 등을 진행했다.

신현숙 회장은 “양성평등주간을 맞이해 성평등의 의미에 대해 생각할 수 있는 소중한 자리를 함께할 수 있어 기쁘다.”면서 “아직까지 사회·문화의 참여와 기회, 임금과 인사에서 차별은 여실히 남아 있는 것이 현실이다. 양성평등이 실현되는 더 좋은 세상을 향해 함께 나아가자”고 말했다.

백영현 포천시장은 “남성과 여성이 서로에게 대항하고 경쟁하는 체제가 아니라 다르지만 동등한 인간으로 존중하는 그런 사회를 열어가야 한다.”면서 “남녀평등 의식함양, 여성고용과 사회참여 평등, 일과 생활의 균형, 여성안전을 목표로 다양한 양성평등 정책을 펼쳐나가겠다.”고 말했다.
