동두천 국가산업단지 산업생태계 조성 중장기 전략 수립 연구용역은 동두천 국가산업단지 2단계 확대개발 추진을 위한 특화산업단지로의 조성방향 설정 및 사업 추진 전략 수립을 목표로 지난 4월 착공하여 8개월 간의 과업수행을 통한 용역 최종결과를 제출했다고 했다.

이날 보고회에서 ㈜현대정책연구원은 동두천 국가산업단지 네이밍 제시 및 비전·목표 수립, 개인 전투장비 및 레저스포츠용품 포함 안전·재난 관련 산업 등 중점산업 육성 전략, 홍보·마케팅 등 기업투자유치 전략, 시 입지경쟁력 강화를 위한 산업생태계 조성 방안 등의 최종 용역결과를 발표했으며, 특히 ㈜현대정책연구원은 2단계 사업에 앞서 9월 착공하여 진행중인 1단계 사업과의 연계 추진 및 전문 인력 양성을 위한 폴리텍 대학과 연구기관 유치 등 발전된 산업 클러스터 형성을 위한 단기~중장기 개발 기간별 전략체계도를 제시·강조했다고 전했다.

동두천시는 이번 용역 결과에 따라 향후 전략사업의 실효성있는 실행 방안을 마련하여 핵심 기업유치 및 특화 산업단지를 육성해나갈 계획이라고 했다.

한편 현재 1단계 동두천 국가산업단지는 9월 착공되어 2022년 하반기 분양 예정이며, 2단계 확대개발을 위해 LH에서 사업타당성 및 입주수요조사 용역을 진행 중이라고 밝혔다.
