[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 10월 20일 양주시는 은현면 하패리 포장에서 시범단지회원과 관계자 등 5명이 참석한 가운데 벼 재배비용과 노동력 절감을 위한 벼 드문모 심기 사업 평가회를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

드문모 심기는 육묘상자에 볍씨 파종량을 늘려 한개 당 250~300g의 벼를 파종해 이양가능한 모의 수를 늘리고, 이양할 때는 모의 수를 3.3㎡당 70~80포기에서 37~50포기를 심는 농법으로 필요한 육묘상자 수를 관행 대비 30% 줄이는 재배기술이라고 했다.

또한, 이양 간격이 넓어지면서 잎집무늬마름병, 도열병 등 병해충과 강우, 태풍으로 인한 도복에 강하다는 장점을 갖고 있다고 했다.

양주시는 지난해 경기도농업기술원 도비사업으로 관내 첫 도입 후 시범농가 10ha에 시범단지를 운영해 생산비 절감효과를 체감하며 큰 호응을 받아 올해 7.5ha를 확대 보급했다고 전했다.

지난 5월 대안벼를 주품종으로 재식밀도를 관행재배(70주/3.3㎡), 드문모 재배(50주, 37주/3.3㎡)로 3개 구획을 나눠 모내기한 결과 관행재배보다 드문모 재배가 10% 증수된 효과를 보였고, 이번 분석결과를 더해 상토절감, 모판 운반 시 가벼움, 파종작업 축소 등 이앙비용 절감을 농업인에게 적극 알려 농촌 고령화에 적극 대응해 나갈 계획이라고 밝혔다.

양주시 농업기술센터 관계자는 “농촌의 일손 부족을 해결하기 위해 생력재배 기술을 적극 도입해 벼 재배 생산비와 노동력 절감을 통한 농가소득 증대에 기여할 계획이다”라고 말했다.
