[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 4일 양주시는 양주 올해의 책으로 선정된 ‘나는 나무에게 인생을 배웠다’의 저자 우종영 작가를 초청해 강연회를 개최한다고 밝혔다.

이번 초청된 우종영 작가는 현재 숲해설가협회에서 해설가와 일반인을 상대로 강연을 하고 있는 나무의사로 베스트셀러인 ‘나는 나무처럼 살고 싶다’를 비롯해 ‘게으른 산행1,2’, ‘나무 의사 큰손 할아버지’, ‘바림’ 등 11권의 책을 집필하며 왕성한 활동을 이어가고 있다고 했다.

이번 강연에서는 코로나19 장기화로 피로감이 쌓인 시민들이 나무의 결단력과 인내력 등의 태도를 배워 삶을 슬기롭게 풀어나가는 힐링의 시간을 가질 예정이라고 했다.

현장 강연은 오는 9월 4일 오후 3시에 경기섬유종합지원센터 대강당에서 진행하며 ‘양주시 도서관’ 유튜브 채널을 통해 실시간으로 생중계할 예정이고, 단 코로나19 상황 추이에 따라 옥정호수도서관 예술극장으로 장소를 변경하거나 온라인으로만 진행할 수 있다고 했다.

양주시는 지난 11일부터 양주시 도서관 홈페이지에서 온라인 접수를 통해 현장 관람 인원 50명을 선착순 모집 중이며, 기타 자세한 문의는 양주시 도서관 홈페이지를 참고하거나 도서관정책팀으로 문의하면 된다고 전했다.
