[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 16일 포천시 자원봉사센터는 소흘읍 저소득 홀몸어르신 가정을 위한 주거환경개선 봉사활동을 펼쳤다고 밝혔다. 

이날 참여한 자원봉사자는 소흘읍 자율방범대, 어머니자율방범대, 영삼자율방범대, 개인 봉사자 등 15명으로, 사용하지 않고 방안 가득 쌓아놓은 물건과 의류를 정리하는 등 집안 곳곳을 청소했다고 전했다.

청소 지원을 받은 어르신은 “많이 힘들었을 텐데 집안을 깨끗하게 청소해줘서 매우 감사하다. 앞으로 잘 유지하며 건강하게 생활하겠다.”라며 고마움을 말했다.

자원봉사센터 이상원 팀장은 “쾌적한 주거환경은 어르신의 건강증진에도 도움이 될 것이다. 앞으로도 깨끗한 공간에서 어르신이 건강하게 잘 지내셨으면 좋겠다.”라고 말했다. 

최기진 소흘읍장은 “도움의 손길이 필요한 취약계층을 위해 봉사를 실천해 준 자원봉사자분들께 감사의 마음을 전한다. 앞으로 취약계층의 건강하고 안전한 생활환경을 위해 더 관심을 가지고 함께 노력하겠다.”고 말했다.
