손지수 회원은 이번 기부를 시작으로 아동들의 성장단계에 맞춰 연간 120만원 상당의 물품을 전달하는 등 중장기적 지원을 이어나갈 예정이라고 전했다.

성열원 복지문화국장은 “코로나19 장기화로 경기불황이 지속됨에 따라 지역 내 어려운 이웃을 위한 후원이 줄어든 시기에 사랑과 보호의 손길이 필요한 시설 아동들이 밝은 미래를 꿈꿀 수 있도록 도움을 준 손지수 회원과 협의회 관계자분들에게 진심으로 감사하다”고 말했다.

한편 직장·공장새마을운동 양주시협의회는 지난달 2일 관내 저소득층 아동을 위해 디딤씨앗통장에 3년간 720만원을 후원하기로 약정했으며 19일에는 제41회 장애인의 날을 맞아 덕정동 소재 사단법인 경기도장애인복지회 양주시지회에 위생도마 50개를 기부한 바 있다고 했다.

또한 현재 협의회에서 추진 중인 달걀판매 사업을 통해 발생한 수익금을 관내 홀몸 어르신, 조손 가정, 한부모 가정 등 저소득 취약계층의 생활안정을 위해 기부할 계획이라고 전했다.
