양주시는 한국전력공사와 각각 50% 보조금을 지급해 관내 6층 이상의 공동주택에 승강기 40대를 지원하고, 선정은 세대수, 준공연수, 층수 등 심사기준에 따라 서류심사 후 지방보조금 심의위원회 심의를 거쳐 6월 중에 대상 공동주택을 확정할 계획이라고 전했다. 

사업을 희망하는 공동주택은 한국전력공사 경기북부본부의 지역별 지사로 방문 또는 우편으로 접수하면 된다고 했다.

양주시 관계자는 “승강기 회생제동장치 설치는 공동주택 공동 관리비 절감 효과가 크고 온실가스를 감축할 수 있다”며“다양한 효과가 큰 사업인 만큼 공동주택의 적극적인 참여를 부탁한다”고 말했다.
