[김현우 기자 = 가평] 가평군은 주민이 직접 제안한 사업을 2024년도 예산에 반영하는 ‘가평군 주민참여예산 제안사업 공모’ 접수기간을 연장 운영한다고 29일 밝혔다. 

주민참여예산제는 일상 생활에서 불편한 사항 또는 가평군에서 추진을 원하는 사업에 대해 주민이 직접 제안하고 군이 이를 반영하는 제도로써, 2023년도에는 총 55건 약14억원의 예산이 주민참여예산으로 편성됐다. 

이번 접수기간 연장은 주민들의 다양한 의견을 추가 접수 받음으로써 보다 주민과 밀접한 사업을 반영하기 위해 추진됐으며, 변경된 접수기간은 기존 마감일보다 2주 연장된 7월 14일까지이다.

가평군에 제안할 사업이 있는 주민은 사업설명서를 각 읍·면 행정복지센터 또는 가평군청 기획예산담당관에 직접 방문 제출하거나 가평군 홈페이지를 통해 제안할 수 있고, 제출된 제안은 해당 부서 검토 후 읍·면 또는 군청 심의위원회를 거쳐 최종 예산으로 편성되게 된다. 

가평군 관계자는 “주민참여예산제도는 주민의 입장에서 필요한 사업을 발굴하고 제안하는데 큰 의미가 있다며, 보다 많은 군민들이 적극적으로 제안해 주기를 희망한다”고 밝혔다.
