[김현우 기자 = 가평] 가평군은 지난 10일 노인의료복지시설 노인복지명예지도원(인권지킴이) 7명을 위촉하고 노인인권보호 강화에 나섰다고 밝혔다.

이번 노인복지명예지도원(인권지킴이)은 가평읍, 청평면, 설악면, 북면에서 지역사회보장협의체 위원으로 활동하는 위원 5명, 가평꽃동네 희망의집 종사자 1명, 상면 새마을부녀회 총무 1명으로 구성됐다. 

이들은 1년간 관내 노인의료복지시설 15개소를 대상으로 월1회 방문하여 어르신 및 시설 관계자 면담 등을 통한 모니터링 활동으로 입소한 이용자들과 종사자들의 인권 보호를 책임지는 노인복지명예지도원(인권지킴이)으로 활동할 예정이다.

이날 위촉식에서 이진옥 행복돌봄과장은 “입소자들의 권익과 편의증진을 위한 인권지킴이 활동을 하신다는 것이 봉사와 희생정신 없이는 낮설고, 어려운 일임을 잘 알고 있습니다.”라고 말했다.

또한, “그럼에도 인권지킴이는 꼭 필요한 활동으로 우리 부모님 세대들이 편안하고 안락한 시설 생활을 하실 수 있도록 자긍심을 가지고 활동해주시실 부탁드립니다.”라고 강조했다.
