[김현우 기자 = 가평] 가평군은 수도권 대표 관광지인 가평을 찾아오는 방문객 및 고령농업인 운전자의 안전한 주행과 힐링할 수 있는 편리한 농로길(시골길)을 제공하기 위하여 ‘The 세심한 The 안전한 농로 구축’ 사업을 확대 추진한다고 9일 밝혔다.  

지난해 ‘자연을 경제로 꽃피우는 도시, 가평’ 민선8기 출범에 따라 군정 5대방침인 ‘지금보다 더(THE) 가평, 주민안전은 더 세심하게’ 일환으로 ‘The 세심한 The 안전한 농로 구축’사업을 수립하고 노후되고 안전시설이 전무한 농로 4,310m 구간에 대하여 컬러 가드레일 설치 및 컬러 도색, 시선유도시설인 델리네이터 설치로 안전한 농로환경을 조성했다.

이 사업은 그동안 농업생산기반시설물의 기능적인 측면에서 관리해오던 오랜 관행을 타파하고 벼 생육 지장 초래로 가로등이 없는 어두운 농로에 차량 전조등의 재귀반사로 시인성이 뛰어난 안전시설 설치 및 기존 가드레일에 도로색과 명도차이가 크고 눈에 잘 띄는 컬러색으로 도색하여 주민안전을 한층 강화할 계획이다.

올해의 경우 작년에 이어 가평군 전 구간의 농로에 대하여 읍·면 합동으로 3월까지 현장조사를 실시하고 연말까지 노후되고 사고위험이 높은 농로에 시인성이 뛰어난 안전시설물 설치로 차량 운전자의 인지능력을 높이고 심리적 안정감을 주어 교통 사고율 감소 등 사업효과를 극대화하기로 했다. 

서태원 군수는 “이번 사업과 같이 창의적이고 선제적인 적극행정으로 사람중심의 농로 안정성과 편리성을 향상시킬 수 있는 내실있는 정책을 지속적으로 추진하겠다”고 말했다.
