[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 1일 제9대 의정부시의회는 현충탑 참배로 공식적인 첫 의정활동을 시작하며, 새 출발의 닻을 올렸다고 전했다.

이날 참석한 의원들은 조국을 위해 목숨을 바친 순국선열과 호국영령의 숭고한 뜻을 기리며 자일동에 위치한 현충탑에서 헌화 및 분향했으며 의원으로서 주어진 책임과 의무를 다할 것을 다짐하는 시간을 가졌다고 했다.

제9대 시의회는 하반기에 행정사무감사 및 2021회계연도 결산, 2023년 본예산안 등 현안 사항 처리를 앞두고 있다고 전했다.

한편, 사무국에서는 의회가 시민의 대의기관으로서 집행부에 대한 감시와 견제라는 역할을 충실히 수행할 수 있도록 전문교육기관의 교육을 준비하고 있다고 했다.
