한편 양주역세권 도시개발사업은 주한미군 공여구역주변지역 등 지원 특별법에 따라 추진되는 사업으로 총사업비 3,905억원을 투입해 양주역과 양주시청 일원 643,762㎡ 규모의 부지에 주거, 업무, 지원, 상업의 자족기능을 갖춘 미래형 융·복합 복합도시를 건설하는 민관공동 개발사업이고, 사업주체는 양주시가 참여한 양주역세권개발PFV이며 지난 3월 양주역세권 개발사업의 성공적 추진과 지역경제 활력 제고를 위해 ㈜대우건설과 함께 3자 간 상생협력 협약을 체결했다고 전했다.
