이에 양주시는 한강하류권 3차 급수체계 조성으로 확보한 전용 공업용수 수수시설 설치를 위해 총사업비 300억을 투입, 3,800㎡ 규모의 광백배수지 개량과 도하 신설배수지 5,500㎡ 신설, 송·배수관 16.7㎞ 부설공사를 지난 2018년부터 실시해 6년간 추진해 왔으며, 이로써 홍죽일반산업단지 640톤, 검준일반산업단지 13,500톤, 남면일반산업단지 400톤, 서울우유협동조합 양주통합신공장 3,000톤, 대륜발전 양주열병합발전소 1,500톤 등 공업용수 총 29,000톤을 안정적으로 공급할 수 있는 기반이 마련됐다고 전했다.

양주시는 안정적인 공업용수 공급과 더불어 불의의 사고나 재해 시 단수 발생 등 입주업체 피해 우려도 해소될 것으로 내다보고 있다고 했다.
