[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 2일 양주시 회천2동 주민자치위원회는 덕계저수지와 도락산 둘레길 일대에서 에코플로깅(Eco-Plogging) 활동을 펼쳤다고 밝혔다.

‘에코플로깅’은 천천히 달리면서 쓰레기를 줍는 활동으로 조깅을 통한 건강지키기와 함께 환경을 깨끗하게 정화하는 친환경 운동이라고 했다.

이날 행사에는 홍미영 회천2동장을 비롯해 최혜정 위원장, 주민자치위원 등 15명이 참석했으며 코로나19 확산 방지를 위해 발열체크, 손 소독, 마스크·면장갑 착용 등 철저한 방역수칙을 준수하며 진행했다고 했다.

참여자들은 덕계저수지와 도락산 둘레길 일대를 순회하며 주변에 방치된 생활쓰레기와 담배꽁초 등을 수거했으며 2020년 주민참여예산으로 확정된 ‘도락산 둘레길 정비 사업’ 대상지를 찾아 기존 시설물을 살피고 신규 시설물 설치에 대한 의견을 공유했다고 했다.

최혜정 위원장은 “코로나19 장기화로 무력하고 답답한 일상을 벗어나 운동과 함께 건강도 지키고, 환경정화 활동도 할 수 있어 좋았다”며 “에코플로깅은 건강과 활동을 모두 지키는 활동으로 많은 주민들이 참여할 수 있으면 좋겠다”고 말했다.

홍미영 동장은 “에코플로깅 활동에 참여해준 회천2동 주민자치위원들에게 감사의 마음을 전한다”며 “에코플로깅 활동이 더욱 확산될 수 있도록 많은 관심과 적극적인 협조를 부탁드린다”고 말했다.
