[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 속초시 여성단체협의회는 오는 21일 오후 2시 속초시 문화예술회관 대공연장에서「제18회 속초 양성평등 대회」를 개최한다고 밝혔다. 

이번 행사는 성별 격차 없는 균형 있는 발전과 사회·문화·경제 등 모든 영역에서 일·가정 양립 실천을 통한 실질적인 남녀평등의 이념을 구현하기 위한 것으로 지역 내 각 단체 회원 등 약 600여 명이 참석한다.  

올해 주제는“평등해서 더 행복한 속초! 우리는 하나 ㆍㆍㆍ one!! ”으로 성평등 사회 실현을 위해 서로 협력하고 소통하는 계기와 공유의 장을 마련해 범시민적 양성평등 분위기를 조성할 계획이다. 

식전공연인 속초시립풍물단 난타북 공연을 시작으로 1부 기념식에는 21세기 남녀평등 헌장 낭독, 여성발전 유공자 시상, 2부에서는 건강 힐링 콘서트로 진행된다. 

이병선 속초시장은“이번 행사를 통해 양성평등 문화확산과 성평등 사회 실현을 마련하는 계기가 되길 바라며, 여성의 참된 자유 회복을 위해 정치·경제 등 모든 분야에서 재능 있는 여성 인재가 더욱 활발히 활동할 수 있도록 양성평등 진흥사업을 적극 추진해나가겠다.”라고 말했다.
