[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 강릉시는 4일 ‘2022년 강릉시 관광형 자율주행차량 임차용역’사전규격공개를 시작으로 국토교통부 지정‘자율주행자동차 시범운행지구’내 관광형 임시운행 실증서비스를 제공할 사업자 선정 절차에 착수했다고 밝혔다.

지난 6월 24일 국토교통부는 강릉을 비롯한 추가 7개 지구를「자율주행자동차 상용화 촉진 및 지원에 관한 법률」(이하 「자율차법」)에 따라‘자율주행자동차 시범운행지구 지정’고시했다고 했다.

강릉시는 자율주행 민간기업 최대 5개사를 선정하여 시범운행지구 규제특례를 기반으로 2022년 하반기 관광형 자율주행차량 임시운행 서비스를 제공할 계획이라고 전했다.

□ 자율차 시범운행지구 개요

｢자율차법｣(‘20.5 시행)에 따라, 규제특례*를 통해 실제 도심에서 민간기업이 자율주행 서비스를 자유롭게 실증할 수 있도록 지원
