[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 11월 22일 양주시는 (사)무궁화복지월드와 (주)KRC가 양주시청을 방문해 어려운 이웃을 위해 써달라며 이웃돕기 성금을 기부했다고 밝혔다.

비영리후원단체인 (사)무궁화복지월드와 경기북부권 자원순환센터인 (주)KRC는 각각 성금 2백만 원, 1천만 원을 기부했고, 이번에 기부받은 성금은 복지 사각지대에 놓인 저소득 가정과 아동보육시설에 전달할 예정이라고 했다.

김종석 부시장은 “코로나19 장기화로 모두가 어려움 상황임에도 불구하고 소외이웃을 위해 따뜻한 손길을 보내주신 기업과 단체에 진심으로 감사드린다”며 “기부금은 취약계층에 잘 전달해 주변에 소외이웃이 없도록 최선을 다해 보살피겠다”고 말했다.
